Joy Mangano is super successful and over 25 years has generated a net worth of $3 billion. What is great about her story - as portrayed in the movie – it was a hard journey. I feel as though many other stories like this have skipped over the truth of the hard work that has gone into one’s success. This shows us all the issues that many designers forget. Business is all about profit and in the design industry you have got to be quick and be first. If you are first, protect your ideas as soon as possible because it can be stolen. This happens in industry a lot and will continue to happen unless you own your IP. In fact in an interview with Inc Mangano says, "When people in the businesses around [you] smell success, they can capture it and take it away if you're naive enough, if you're not strong enough.”

Joy Mangano is probably a name you haven’t heard before the launch of this movie, she is the ‘QVC queen’. The break in her career was when she, herself, sold her invention of the self-wringing mop on QVC the television sales giant. She is the mind behind many household products including; ‘Huggable Hangers’, ‘Forever Fragrant’ technology and ‘Memory Cloud Pillow’.
