Kickstarter is a website which helps artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers, and other creators make a platform where they can advertise their business or new idea and ask for help from the public; whether that is through funding or support (mostly funding).

The Kickstarter community is massive. It is built on the principle of creativity and reaches over 10 million people. Every artist on Kickstarter has complete control. They can request how much funding the need and decide what rewards investors will receive in return. Customers are able to share only what they feel like sharing in terms of their business plan.

The company was only launched on April 28, 2009 and since then 10 million people have backed a project, $2.2 Billion has been pledged, and 100,602 projects have been successfully funded.
