The Hoverboard is the name given to the new, fun gadget which is actually a handless Segway.

This is not the one I am referring to.

I am talking about a back to the future, floating skate board type of Hoverboard. This all still seems theoretical and not yet possible. What most of you probably do not know is that the technologies that is required to make this product possible have existed for a while but no one has actually figured out how to put this all together and turn it into the correct size or shape. There is one company, however, that is pretty close and their name is Hendo. Hendo have managed to make working prototypes, the secret behind Hoverboards are the disc shaped engines. The engines have a magnetic fields that repel each other, causing the board to lift.

The technology was designed to be human-driven but have found that the technology involved allows it to me remote controlled.

The technology is still not perfected and Hendo are finding a way to make this product cheaper as well as researching ‘hover’ technology in general.

Research and open house with Hendo

Keep up with HendoHover research here (x)
