LunaLEC is a company that is researching LEC (Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cell) abd are making great progress.
How does it work?
The substance is made from a "conjugated polymer" giving the liquid flourescent and semi-conducting properties. The subsantce needs to be sandwiched between a cathode and and anode to create a circuit. The good thing about this innoation is that it doesnt require a high voltage.

What is it used for?
LunaLEC are still experimenting on manufacturing processes and testing the limits of these cells that they have created.
Here is a list of future opportunities for this product: - MedTech devices for skin diseases and conditionsLighting
- stickers that you put on items for sale
- Packaging designed with a glowing text.
- Billboards that light up with the power from a battery.
- Signage produced in the ink jet printer in the individual store.
The breakthrough of this technology is that you can now meet smaller dimensions and shapes and still emit light from the entire surface.
